The International Spouse Program
The International Spouse Program (ISP) is a support group and social network for the wives, husbands, and domestic partners of Stony Brook graduate students. Weekly meetings are held on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapin Community Center. Contact Veronica at vero_abreu@yahoo.com
The Host Family Program
The Host Family Program (HFP) provides new international students with continuing friendships and involvement with families in the United Sates. It was developed to offer hospitality to international students by a group of community residents. Both students and host families can have the enriching experience of a cultural exchange and gain a new perspective about the world. Anyone can be a host family: A retired couple, a large family group, a newly-wed couple, or a single individual. The only pre-requisite is the desire to make an international student feel comfortable in a strange and new setting.
