Volunteer to be a 'Student Ambassador' for New International Student Orientation
Who are Student Ambassadors?
Student Ambassadors are Stony Brook students who volunteer during the International Orientations to greet new international students and orient them to Stony Brook University, Long Island and the U.S. All students are encouraged to apply: graduate, undergraduate, international and American students. We are looking for a group of people with diverse backgrounds and education levels.
What does a Student Ambassador do?
Student Ambassadors are volunteers who introduce new students to the Stony Brook campus and to living in the U.S. Student Ambassadors help conduct International Student Orientation, provide a wealth of information about campus life, and answer new students’ many questions throughout the orientation. Student Ambassadors help them upon arrival at orientation, and maintain contact with them informally after orientation. Student Ambassadors living on campus move into their housing assignments early (without additional charge) to help new students. Please let us know if you require housing during the program.
