SPRING 2010 Orientation Schedule

All new graduate and undergraduate international students, including exchange and transfer, are expected to attend the International Student Orientation. Our Orientation will provide you with important and relevant information to assist in a smooth and successful transition to Stony Brook University.

Make-up orientation, for new international F-1 students only, is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Computer Science Building, Wireless Seminar Room 2311

Our Spring 2010 Orientation Schedule for New International Graduate and Undergraduate students from January 19th to 22nd, 2010 is as follows:

Tuesday, January 19th

10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Check In
Location: Student Activities Center Why Lobby
International students check-in and campus tours. Mandatory for all New International Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Tuesday, January 19th

2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Student Activities Center Auditorium
Welcome, Introduction and Registration Information Workshop: Mandatory for all New International Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Tuesday, January 19th

4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Student Activities Center Auditorium
Welcome to Stony Brook Reception

Wednesday, January 20th

8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: Student Activities Center Auditorium
International Student Orientation: Mandatory for all New International Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Thursday, January 21st
08:30 AM - 02:00 PM - International Undergraduate Transfer Students
12:30 PM - 06:00 PM - International Undergraduate First-year Students (freshmen)
Location: Student Activities Center, Check-in in Lobby
Students will meet with their academic advisors and register for their semester classes. Please arrive on time. These advising sessions are mandatory for all new students.

Location: Student Activities Center Auditorium
International Student Orientation: Mandatory for all New International Graduate and Undergraduate students.

Sunday, January 24th
11:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Location: Student Activities Center, Check-in in Lobby
Students will learn about important academic and university policies that pertain to all new students. They will also have an opportunity to learn more about Stony Brook's campus, services, and activities. This session is mandatory for all new students.
